Gingerbread

This recipe has been passed down from Zoë's grandmother.

Ingredients

Method

Rub the lard into the flour plus salt, baking powder and bicarb, until it looks like breadcrumbs. Then add sugar, treacle, syrup and water (in that order). Mix until all ingredients are combined. Put in greased tin and cook for 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour at gas mark 3/160 deg. C.
